The Foxxy Story

Born in 1982 Damian Foxxy's life was constant work, constant business and constant family inspired by the example of his mother and father, Wayne and Lorena Foxxy owners of a prominent furniture store in Atlanta, Georgia. From a young age Damian learned the value of a dollar and what it can do when spent well.
Lorena taught Damian that leaders are followers who pay attention. This mantra served Damian well in high school where he played football at Douglass High School, moving from a second string linebacker to tight end and eventually team captain and quarterback in his senior year. Damian became a year 2000 All-American with offers to play in college.
Damian accepted a scholarship from Georgia University in Atlanta where he started as a wide receiver. Neverthless, football did not remain his sole focus. Along with playing football, he majored in Business Analytics and history.
A potential NFL future was dashed in 2002 when Damian suffered a severe knee injury. Although disappointed the young student bounced back with a new dive into entrepreneurship. During a vacation trip to Cartagena, Colombia, Damian connected with his mother's brother Salvador Montoya a coffee grower based on the outskirts of Cartagena. Tasting his uncle's exquisite Colombian brew Damian was mesmerized with the flavor. His uncle taught him coffee brewing techniques and gifted him a 15 pound bag of coffee beans ; Damian took it back to the United States.
Instead of drinking it all himself Damian decided to buy a coffee brewing machine. Partnering with a food producer acquainted with his father, Damian began selling coffee drinks to fellow students from his dorm. The delicious caffeine cocktail attracted many buyers. Instead of shutting him down college administration workers bought from him as well. Realizing he had a growing customer base, Damian signed a formal supplier agreement with his uncle.
At the end of his college experience in 2005 Damian had saved $25,000. With this capital Damian secured a loan and opened a coffee shop in downtown Atlanta near the financial district. The area provided Damian the chance to meet professionals from all over the world. In 2009 he met Tesfaye Mariam Selassie an Ethiopian coffee grower in America looking for business partners. After sampling his product Damian and Tesfaye signed a supplier agreement and in 2010 Damian's coffee shop began to receive authentic Ethiopian coffee. The popularity of the coffee shop grew and Damian was featured in Financial Insider, and Food World Magazine. In 2012 the coffee house was renamed Foxxy Coffee and the iconic fox logo was adopted. In 2015 Foxxy Coffee served its 5,000th customer. Damian and Foxxy Coffee are committed to staying local and serving the community. Damian looks forward to 2019 and new expansion opportunities in the Atlanta area.
